Does the club has a match on Christmas?
Seb,We have home games on 26/12 (holiday) and 29/12 and an away game on 1/1.
Traditionally 26/12 and 1/1 should not be distant opponents but local.
Es ist eine Schande, in Deutschland gibt es keine Weihnachtszeit Fußball. Hier ist es eine Tradition.
-
Yes, it's called the boxing day, or not?
Arsene Wegner told something about this. That is the reason why he gave Jens Lehmann and will give Mesut Özil now a little vacation.
-
Yes Boxing day
Here we eat our Christmas meal on 25/12, In Germany it's 24/12?
-
All right.
Yes, we eat normally in the evening of the 24.12. There are a lot of poeple who work the half-day of the 24.
At the same time, Merry Christmas to you!

Liverpool would be nice.
One question, why there are no penalty shoot-outs when the match ends 0:0 or 1:1?
-
Hi Seb,
If the game finishes in a draw, then there is a replay at the opponent's stadium. Then a penalty shootout after extra time in that game if it's still a draw.
This is good because it gives the smaller team another match of 50% of ticket money, imagine Saarbrucken got to replay at Dortmund and shared money of 80,000 fans.
Some years ago, there were no penalty shoot outs, it would keep going to replays until a team won!
-
Nice one

I like this idea. The system is good. -
I like this idea. The system is good.I don't like it...the chance that the smaller team wins in a penalty shoot out is much higher, than winning in the opponents stadium
so imagine we would have played 0-0 against dortmund... then we would know: there is simply no chance to win at dortmund, but a 0-0 after 120 mins, going into a penalty shoot out would just be awesome for the fans

But imagine the chance for 5,000 FCS fans to visit Dortmund? And EUR 750,000 in ticket money for FCS?
The FA Cup in England is the greatest cup competition in the world, something like 700 teams enter in July (Kreisliga level), there are something like 10 rounds before even the first proper round.
How many teams enter the DFB Pokal?
